You have to remove the top case, since the trackpad is stuck to it. From there, it's very easy to remove. There are 2 connectors, one on the motherboard the other on the little board that controls the trackpad. The hardest thing is removing the top case. You have to unscrew all the screws underneath, remove the keyboard and, I'm not sure, maybe the screen as well. Of course, you have to remove the 2 modules in each expansion bay, since this is where there are levers to release the keyboard. I thought I've seen step by step pictures on some web site that offer PowerBook upgrades but can't remember which one.
