Glad to hear its up and walking.
Try running a CD cleaner through the CD drive. Sounds like its dirty or out of focus. There is an adjustment process for the drive, I had to do it for my 1400, but its a little complicated. Somebody had directions for the PB1400 CD drive (should be similar). I don't remember who's website it was on but Maybe somebody else remembers???
