Hmm, not really.
MAC actually IS something different to Mac.
It's like the preffix "m" or "M" when writing megabyte.
The first "m" means milli (10^-3) or 0.001
while the latter "M" means Mega (10^6) or 1000000
So the case of a letter/letters *can* be very important.
