Just out of curiousity -- how do these spots appear? When I brought my
ibook home, it had no spots...how do these stress distributions change
since the factory? I don't ever put anything on top of my ibook....

Yeah, I believe that these are the infamous bright spots -- they are a
result of the LCD mounted with an uneven stress distribution. I am
not
certain but I don't think they replace the LCd -- they just remount
it.
They remount it with pads in different places behind the LCD. I have
done
it about 30 times. Take out the Sodimm. They won't care and it won't
void
your warranty, but it is too valuable to ship. Send it in in it's
original
configuration if possible.
