Unfortunately that option was not available in my instance. Perhaps because I was using a DVD OS X install disk?

A DVD install disk by itself wouldn't preclude install OS 9 drivers but if the installer disk is for a recent model of Mac that doesn't support booting into 9 it probably wouldn't have the feature.
