Ok, but why should I need to remove all the keys, like so many ppl have suggested? Its not all over the keyboard, just in one corner, and to tell u the truth...I don't know exactly what fell beneath the keyboard that made it stickey. The main part of the stickyness is on the corner of the keyboard, in range of a small paintbrush, and the rest is in _very_ small portions throughout the left side of the keyboard, so it sounds like just dipping it over and over in water, getting that one part w/ a paint brush, and leaving it to dry for days should work.
BTW, I wasn't thinking of using soap, but why no hairdryers? cm-high water entered my dad's Dell Latitude (we are all mac ppl now, that was his last Windows machine), and I revived it with a hairdryer (again, this was the dog's doing; he causes much computer destruction :) Andrew On Mon, 24 Jan 2005 00:33:39 -0500, "Dylan Moore" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> said: > Hey, just to add to what laurent has said-- > I would strongly advise AGAINST the use of soap- and just use water. > why? > If i remember correctly, most of the parts in the ibook were actually > water-washed after the soldiering phase (and before the addition of > microchips) because of flux residue. > Soap may be too abrasive, but water will probably not hurt the > keyboard.
