They should probably work pretty well on that, I've used them to clean slightly textured plastic surfaces before in addition to smooth metal, they're amazing for stuff like scuff marks and whatnot.
I should have tried that on the little black mark I had on my old PB on the metal on the side of the screen and beside the keyboard where it contacted it...have no idea what caused it, could never get rid of it...
