The 835 is only the way to go if you don't need a Region Free firmware update, which is not available yet on the 835 (not sure about 825). The 815 has region free firmware and a backwards flasher to region locked (for warranty repairs so they can't blame the region hack).
This is the one dissappointment I had with my new PowerBook, I can no longer use it to watch my region 3 DVDs.
