I had a similar problem with my Pismo (400, 512MB), running 10.3.7. I
discovered that engaging Expose, whether by hot-key or hot-corner,
would often, not always, result in a freeze. I wasn't able to determine
the exact conditions; but the problem would always happen if I had been
using Safari for some time and had accumulated 3-4 windows, each with
several tabs. I decided to deal with the problem by simply switching
Expose off. Then, a couple of months later, I repartitioned my
hard-disk (for an unrelated reason) and, of course, had to reinstall
the system software. For whatever reason, Expose worked with no
problems and continues to work fine after updating to 10.3.8. So you
may want to try reinstalling your system software. If you do, I hope
you have the same luck I had.
