I have purchased 512 MB chip for 1GHz PowerBook 12'' on the web. The chip that arrived in 2 days was bad so I sent it back and it took abour 10 days to get a replacement that works fine. It is not the highest speed, but reasonable enough to get what you want for reasonable money.
The handlig by the zipzoomfly.com was very good. No hold-ups on their side - it took them 24 hours to respond to the RMA and then it was only a matter of shipping the chip back to them and waiting for the new one to arrive. You may try CompUSA if there is one close by or MicroCenter - they also have Macs on display and could advise you which memory works best. I myself got the Kingston Value RAM and I'm happy with it.
