The Apple site goes into very little detail on which GPUs give full support. I have a brand-new PowerBook 12" (64MB nVidia 5200) so I'm guessing it is fully supported, but my friend has an 800MHz iBook G4 and I don't know whether I should recommend the update for her or not. Also, my 1GHz Sawtooth has a 32MB GeForce MX pulled out of a QuickSilver, this is an older, though Quartz Extreme capable card. Will it be supported under Core Image, and if not, is it still worthwhile from a performance viewpoint to install Tiger on that machine?
