I think someone on this list suggested it a while back. My PowerBook is starting to show some shine on the trackpad, wrist area, and most-used keys. I thought some kind of protection for the screen might be in order. Will this affect the hinges over a period of time?

It shouldn't do that, and this is a good idea for anyone with a modern thin laptop.


A cheaper solution is to go to someplace like Pep Boys, Autozone or Checker and buy a chamois cloth. They're pretty cheap, usually less than $15, and have enough material for a half dozen protectors like this.

Even a sheet of paper works.
