I recently did a clean install of OS 9.2.2 upgrading from 9.1. Since then
my internal VST zip disk doesn't see a disk in it until I have rebooted
with disk inserted. After doing that the zip icon comes up, I can use files
from the drive, put away, insert another zip disk, etc. All is fine, but
only after that initial restart. Any idea what could be going on here that
causes it not to see the zip disk before restart?
The driver for the zip drive doesn't load unless there is a disk in the drive.
I'll assume you have the Iomega software package that goes with the drive.
There should be a utility in thesoftware bundleto mount zip disks if you
didn't have one in at startup. I forget what its called tho.
Either way this is normal behavior under 9.
It is not normal behavior. It is an indication that the updated
driver isn't installed (in the Extensions folder) properly.
Obtain a copy of IomegaWare 4.0.2 via VersionTracker or Iomega's web
site, and install it.
