The hardware requirements for a printer/copier/scanner are pretty
much irrelevant for your purposes. You have a G3 PowerBook so your
only real concern is whether or not you are running a version of the
OS that is supported by the software. A printer driver's need for CPU
horsepower is trumped by the slow speed of the printer. If you and I
started a print job at the same time, my G5 dualie might be a second
or two ahead of yours. Similarly, the slow USB interface controls the
speed of the scan more than the speed of the computer. The only place
where your Lombard might show its age is in using the optical
character recognition. However, you are likely to get an old version
of Readiris which probably came out about the same time that your
Lombard was.
A couple years ago I had an iBook whose specs are pretty much the
same as your Lombard. I had an HP AIO that I liked quite a bit.
