This is happening even on a full battery. When it is plugged
in, it will just go to sleep and wakes as soon as I open the lid.
Something similar happened to me recently. I discovered that it
had to do with the settings in System Preferences>Energy Saver.
There are different settings for battery and for power supply. Play
with the battery settings and see if it makes a difference.
