>From my experience, low profile 256 MB SODIMMs which are compatible with
the Wallstreet and Lombard are difficult to find, whereas low profile 256
MB SODIMMs which are compatible with the Pismo are very easy to find.

There are several vendors which are currently selling 256 MB SODIMMs
which are compatible with the Wallstreet and Lombard, but these are
specifically identified as being high profile.

The issue here is the Wallstreet and Lombard DRAM controller is
compatible with "single bank" (not necessarily single side) SODIMMs
and/or "low density" DRAM chips, whereas the Pismo is compatible with
both single and two bank, and single and two side SODIMMs and with low
density and high density DRAM chips.

Installation of two bank and/or high density SODIMMs on a Wallstreet or
Lombard is likely to result in the SODIMM being read as one-half
capacity, regardless of what the EPROM on the SODIMM says.

Obviously, YMMV.
