What can I try here: After a trip to the shop for these same symptoms, my machine still does this:
1. No wakeup of the screen from sleep most of the time - have to 3-finger-salute restart, sometimes twice. 2. Ethernet connection either slow or no go, but the airport connection does work. (airport home, ethernet office.) When I brought it into the shop it also was not booting all the way, which it now does - they changed the logic board.
