Hi, I'm trying to delete a corrupted tiff file off my iBook desktop and throw out in the trash can. When I empty the trash can, a message says that the tiff file is in use so it can't be deleted from the trash can. I tried restarting my iBook a couple of times. But the message is the same.
Anyone know a way to trash this corrupted tiff file? I'm running OS X.4

Using the Command Line.

Launch Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities)

If the current user doesn't have admin privileges then type "login adminuser" where adminuser is the short name for an admin. Press enter then enter the password

type in "sudo rm " then drag the file ICON to the terminal window.
The system will fill in the path of the file.
Press return.
It will prompt you for the admin's password.

Check the trash, it should be gone.
