It would appear that 233 and 266 Beige machines are a dead end (I had one ...

The Beige 300, and faster, are, AFAIK, always Rev. 2 or 3, and are compatible 
with nearly everything present (OS 9) or planned (OS X, et al).

One can't "fix" a 233 or 266 Beige just by installing a Rev. B or C ROM SIMM 
(from OWC, say).

That only fixes the EIDE Slave incompatibility problem ... the video problems 
persist.

Use a third party video card in your 233 or 266, if you must have the best 
possible *video performance*.

As for *video compatibility* ... well, that is a whole 'nother issue.
