Tina....
I also use FreePPP on a couple Powermacs running 8.6. FreePPP is great as
long as you have you modem set up correctly in the settings. Haven't tried it
with ISDN, but have run serial, usb modems and also OS 9.1 with it.
BTW, maybe it is the Danish version with the probs as I have 9.1 on a
partition on this 9500/G3 and don't like it. 8.6 is very stable and I guess
I'm just used to it..... So I run the 8.6 partition....
It never hurts to refresh your system software. I use an iMac 8.6 CD and
restore the system in place every six months or so. Check your FreePPP,
TCP/IP, and modem settings and make sure you are not missing something. I
have been 'connection frustrated' a time or two and usually was something very
simple I was overlooking.....
