Don't go with ATI's card unless money is the only object. You will get much better results from an Analog -> Digital converter. It will convert your (Analog)RCA jacks into (Digital)FireWire. There are a bunch of company's that have products like this on the market, but I can only think of two off the top of my head. The "Sony DVMC-DA2 Media Converter", and the "Dazzle Hollywood 1394 DV Analog Video Capture". They allow you to capture into your G4 and then export back out to a VCR or other recording device. Both have received good reviews and will give you much better results than USB or cheap PCI cards. I just checked and both are available from Macwarehouse, although you might find them cheaper elsewhere. Also Amazon has them in their zShops. The one other model I can think of has a TV tuner built in but costs more than the Sony so I'm not sure if its worth it.
