My Beige G3 does not have USB built in. However I added a USB card. Not sure
why USB would be required though. However I installed it to use an Iomega
Zip 650CDR so that I could burn CDs. Not my first choice for a CD burner but
I got it for almost nothing and it's compatible with iTunes.
