You should consider 3 things before going into this:

1. You say, rightly so, that the beige has limitations elsewhere. This 
is a good reason not to shoehorn in a G4.

2. Are you likely to use AltiVec enabled apps (OS X, Photoshop etc.), if 
not don't bother - there's no point getting a G4 if you don't use 
AltiVec, unless you buy it new of course and that's because the desktops 
are all G4s!

3. The above considered, would selling the machine and buying a 733 G4 
be cheaper than upgrading the existing machine?
