Netscape 6.1 installed perfectly on my graphite iBook 466, but I got the
same "NSRuntime missing" error when I tried to install it on my parents'
Bondi iMac 233. I don't have either machine in front of me right now,
so I can't check for the proper name, but inside the Netscape
application folder, there's a folder that holds necessary extensions or
components or some such term. Comparing the contents of this folder on
each machine, I noticed that NSRuntime was present on the iBook, but not
on the iMac. A few other files were missing on the iMac, too, I'm not
sure why. I just copied all of missing files from the iBook onto the
iMac, and everything worked fine. (Probably not the most reliable way
of solving the problem, but oh well...)
I'm not sure if this anecdote is much help for you, unless you have a
computer that has a working installation of Netscape 6.1, but it's the
best I could do. <g>
Best of luck,
Mike W.
