This article, although written in 1998, includes a
very clever way of transferring data from the old
drive to the new one.
As for drives, I put a Maxtor 7200rpm 40gb drive that
I love. It is quiet and fast, even on the stock ATA-3
Bus. Others have reported good results with the IBM
DeskStar drive. Either would be a good choice. HTH
