Dont think you can use a Windows card in the Mac.. At least thats what
the guys at the local MacHQ told me when I had to pay over $100 for a
Sonnet ATA66 card.. Now how come for a PC I can get me a
Maxtor/Promise/etc ATA100 card for about $50 (and thats a little
pricey) but for my G3 I had to pay over $100 for an ATA66?? And it
doesnt even come with RAID??

looks like the very same card is being used with (and without) VST's
SoftRAID software (which I already own).

So, does anybody know anything about this? Are these in fact the same
card? Can I buy a Windows-intended card and use it in my Mac? Do I need
a Mac-capable card? Are there ROM-flashing steps I can take?
Essentially, what do I need to know about IDE controller cards to make
an informed decision?

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance. It is greatly appreciated.

Mitch.
