Ola ! I'm new here, currently in Goa (on the west coast of india).
We have a rev.1 G3 233MHz Desktop with 160MB RAM & OS 8.1 at home. Other
than the sound card that just died and the occasional "quit with an erro of
Type 2" error, it's just fine. Apple's customer support/relations are pretty
much non-existent here, but we're moving to Portugal (gorgeous place, if
you're looking for a holiday destination) soon, so I've stopped caring.
Mark, re. your RAM problem, you could try testing it using a utility called
GURU from http://www.newerram.com/
I don't have the exact URL for the download, but it's somewhere on their
site, don't get confused with the online version that's there only to tell
you what memory you can install in your Mac.
I could email it to you, it's about 330kb.
For some time after adding a 128MB DIMM in May, I kept having Address & Bus
errors, which I thought were related to the RAM, but they mysterioulsy
vanished, though I think I did a clean install or something...
