You can do the swap without and problems. As you must know, the 7600 will be
a 4x or 8x speed so it will be much slower than the 24x that you would
normally find in your G3.

To locate a replacement, watch eBay, check some of the many used resellers
out there (lowendmac.com has a page or some links to several) and/or check
the retail sites. You might also join the LEM-swap list temporarily and post
a request for a CD-ROM. There are a lot of good deals to be found there.
Join at lowendmac.com for that list too.
