Hi Michael,
Yes, some strange stuff is happening to my start up
SCSI full height Seagate 10Gig HDD; upon start up it
spins up then down, as the finder kicks in the drive
again spins up and usually stays up. There's a big
difference bewteen Energy Control panels in 8.6 and
9.x. I once wanted to replace the 9.x panel with the
8.6 version. I'm also using an external, independent
power supply for the start up disk to save energy
and/or wear and tear.
