10.1 is the bomb. It has smooth fast performance. I have a 500Mhz G4
Tower and a 400Mhz G4 Powerbook. OS 10.1 is now usable. 9.2.1 is faster
on some apps, but not all. My best experience was launching IE. On OS
10.0.4, the icon would bounce 8 to 10 times. Now one bounce and it
opens, and the page is already loaded. Awesome. I downloaded the Test
Preview of Microsoft Word for OS X. Sweet. If you going to run it, you
should get 256 MB of ram, and that 500Mhz G3 upgrade. Things are so
cheap right now.

I was just thinking...Is anyone running 10.1 yet? I have a beige G3
300mhz.
Am I better off waiting until I get a new G3 500 zif to buy OS X? Has
anyone who's running it noticed any slowdowns (significant or not) when
compared to 9.2?

Thanks

Justin
