Go to the www.fnal.gov site and hover your pointer over the "about Fermilab" item on the left. A menu will pop up with "Virtual tour" as one of the selections. Note that the computing system pictured in the virtual tour is not a computing farm but an old system called ACPMAPS - a home-built tightly coupled multi-processor with a peak performance of something like 50 Gflops. This was very impressive when new but this system is now at the end of its life. A new project called PCQCD is building up using dual-processor PCs running Linux and Myrinet for a high-speed, low-latency interconnect. Both PCQCD and the ACPMAPS system are most heavily used by particle theorists doing lattice guage calculations of the QCD (Quantum Chromodynamics) model of the subatomic world.
