My first guess what that:

When the mac first came out, they were one of the only ones who could afford
it... And since lawyers never seem to die (j/k to all the lawyers out there
but they do seem to work into a ripe old age) they have kept and used what
they liked, with solutions built upon it over time (like the graphic design
market).

I like yours much better though, and hope its true... I know what you mean
about the 15 minute thing... My lawyer bills for every damn minute we even
talk on the phone. :)
