Yes,

Mac OS 9.1/9.0.4/9.0 are all memory hogs, especially if you turn off 
Virtual Memory. If you have less than 256MB of ram I would suggest 
leaving Virtual Memory on. If your over like me, I have 1 GIG of ram, 
virtual memory makes no sense. I'm running 9.1 and my computer uses over 
90MB of memory to run my system.

Question:

I'm running OS 9.1 ... And sometimes it's listed in "About This 
Computer" as
using up to 70MB or ram... Usually it's around 40 or 50.  Is this 
normal??
I have 26 control panels listed if that helps.
