Thanks, Bill, I think. Someone, very quickly, gave me the right advice. This person said to try repairing with Apple's own little Disk First Aid. Opened it up and there was my AdVid HD. I selected it and commanded REPAIR. It did so and the drive icon along with my Photoshop icon popped back onto the desktop.
