Ahh. That clarifies a point. At first I thought there is a budding relationship between AOL and RoadRunner. OK. My Cox RoadRunner service in Northern Virginia is not as bad as Kurt Appling's service. I've been keeping notes on every problem I've encountered. The service is getting more stable as time goes by. For the past month, since August 26, I've made notes on downtime for only five downtimes. But since I took my APC SurgeProtect out of the circuit between the modem and my router on August 31, I've had only two downtimes, one for about 15 minutes last night and another on the 24th when a violent storm swept through. Now that Cox RoadRunner is extending their digital cable service into the neighborhood, they are promising improved TV reception even on analog TV's provide they are "cable ready" and saying that high speed data service will improve also. As for AOL, I believe you can keep AOL for about $5/month in a package that keeps your e-mail the same. I do not know whether that retains their instant messaging. -- Al Poulin Anger, hate, and revenge are for the devil, forgiveness is for God, self-defense is for the rest of us -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
