Thanks to all who responded on my issue of freezes and bombs on my B&W G3.
My last fix attempt was to zap the pram and pull out all the ram and
reinstall. So far one of these seems to have fixed the problem. I've worked
for several hours last night and today without one problem. Ain't life
grand!

Also, I've read with interest the comments about QXP vs. PageMaker vs.
InDesign. I've used PageMaker since version one and have yet to find a
sufficient reason to change. The notion that "real designers" use QXP is
hogwash. Real designers use their head. The software is nothing more than a
tool to make ideas real. All three software packages have their strengths
and weaknesses, so what really counts is which works best for your
particular needs. I would point out that one big difference between
PageMaker and the others is that for those who entered this profession
before computers (for me that was in 1971) and learned traditional paste-up,
PageMaker followed that basic approach so it was a comfortable solution that
many of us stayed with.
