I really don't think most PC people think games or mechanical CAD when you mention creative to them... If anything, the first thing they think of is Print work, then games. And yes, even if you don't understand the tools they use, many of the people who work on games are artists (I have a friend who works for midway). They use textures as their paintbrushes, and polygons as their clay. And they don't use a mac... Is there a technical side to what they do? Yes, but there is a technical side if you output print to (trapping and everything has gotten easier, but you do not just hit print, even on a mac).
