I have just shown a friend how to upgrade a beige G3/266 to 9.2.1

Only change from standard is it was ordered with 1Mb Backside instead of
512k, and has an internal (ATA) Zip fitted. No PCI cards.

Now, although it runs v. happily, it freezes on being put to sleep, eiter
from the menu bar, or Cmd-Power and then selecting sleep.

I've only ever seen this before when PCI cards which don't support sleep are
installed, but this G3 has empty PCI slots.

Can anyone shed any light on probable cause - (and hence cure)?

Many thanks
