I know Jake has found satisfaction with the iTunes Associator, but for stuff like this I highly recommend DropAttribute (<http://www.chaoticsoftware.com/ProductPages/DropAttribute.html> or the usual download sources). It's not just for mp3s; it'll change the type and/or creator of any file you care to throw at it. Like to use Jpegview to look at images but IE insists on labelling them Picture Viewer documents? Give 'em to DropAttribute. Got some pdfs that downloaded with generic icons (and you know you do)? Give 'em to DropAttribute. You get the picture. The best part about the software is that it'll convert multiple files at once. It's no big deal to convert one or two files with ResEdit, but once you have more than a handful to work with, it can be a real pain. DropAttribute can handle a folder containing hundreds of files with ease.
The usual disclaimer applies: not affiliated with company; just satisfied customer; blah blah and blah. Mitch. P.S. (just to stir things up): Jake, what in the world would make you choose iTunes over SoundJam?
