Hello everyone: I'm cross posting this to two lists.
Using Outlook Express 5.02 with OS 9.2.2 on a QuickSilver 733, I want to run OE in the Applications volume and hold the mail in the Documents volume. The Read Me ways that I can "store your Microsoft User Data folder in any location, including a server. However, you should place an alias to that folder in either your system Documents folder or the Outlook Express 5 folder." When I put the Microsoft User Data folder in the Documents volume and alias back to either the OE 5 folder or the Documents folder on the startup volume, I get an error message. I get the same error message when I pull the Identities folder from inside the Microsoft User Data folder. Same results with may other combinations, including using OE 5 from the startup volume itself. The error message consistently says something like: "move or copy the Identites folder located in (whereever I left it in good condition) to the Outlook Express 5.02 folder on your hard disk." I can make that work fine, but then the mail data is not stored in my Documents volume. Is there any way to do what I want and thereby simplify my backup routine?
