also go to the griffin website and make sure you have the latest version
of the driver, it might help or it might not but it won't hurt.  they
also have some other useful utilities on their site, though i don't know
of any for recording.  then again i haven't used my imic much, i was
going to use it for speech recognition, but with the delay and
background noise it didn't work, i wound up getting a really nice usb
headset with built in dsp for optimizing speech, seems to work great
other than completely taking over sound i/o and disabling all the other
sound i/o devices.
