Have you checked your Apple Talk settings? Sometimes just switching the
ports back and forth in Apple Talk and then resetting things in the
chooser
will fix things.

Kathi,

Yep, I had already tried that to no avail. The weird thing is that
printer was recognized for a couple of days, now it's gone again. I
can't figure out a pattern as to why/when it disappears. I've tried
trashing the LaserWriter 8 prefs again, switched Appletalk on & off
again & that didn't help this time either. It's a super inconvenience to
not be able to print.

For those just tuning in, here is my original post:

>>I have a G-3 minitower with OS 9.1 & a Laserwriter Select 360.
Yesterday, while printing a 3 page e-mail, the printer did the 1st two
pages, but the 3rd page never printed. No dialog boxes came up to
indicate a problem.

I checked Chooser, clicked on the Laserwriter 8 icon, but the printer
did not show up. I had a similar problem a couple of years ago with the
printer not being recognized, but it went away on its own. Anyway, I
checked all of the cables, turned the printer off & then on. That
didn't
help. I did a restart. Still no printer. I tossed the Laserwriter
prefs.
No printer.

Today, I uninstalled Laserwriter 8 & then custom installed it again.
The
Chooser still doesn't recognize the printer. Any ideas?<<
