Hi all,

I have a three month old QuickSilver G4/733. I have had Zero problems
with Firewire until I updated to 10.1.3. Now every time I plug in my
external DVD Rom drive or my OWC Mercury On-The-Go (10GB) drive, my
G4 locks up tight. I have to unplug the tower and let it sit for a
few minutes unplugged to get it to boot again.
When I boot into OS9, plugging in a Firewire drive does not freeze up
the Mac - it does nothing. The System Profiler does not see anything
Firewire connected.
Does anyone have any clues about this? Is it strictly 10.1.3 related?
The macfixit forums have some readers reporting Firewire problems
with the 10.1.3 update, but no one seems to have any type of a fix.
The Apple web site has been less than helpful.

Thank you,
Troy
