Hi folks, I have a G3 beige tower; 300Mhz, 640 RAM, OS 8.6, original 8G HD with a QPS FireWire card and a Macsense USB card. I'm looking to add either a FireWire/USB hard drive or FireWire/USB CD-RW, as I need the FireWire/USB combo for flexibility.
I'm deciding between a QPS or LaCie FireWire/USB 16X10X40 CD-RW ($190) or MicroNet (60GB;$230) FireWire/USB. I've also looked at the VST Firewire/USB (10GB; $239) and LaCie FireWire/USB (20 GB; $210 or 30GB; $270) hard drives. I'm going to be using the device for backup and every day use. I'd like to know everyone's thoughts on the following. - Has anyone use a MicroNet hard drive? If so, whats your experience? - Recommendations on which FireWire/USB combo drives are best. - I don't think a CD-RW can be used as efficiently as a hard drive but could it be done? Thank you all in advance for your time. Van Matthews __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
