That can be because many scripts do a check for browser (and even OS). Ideally this is so they can fall back to a simpler page if you don't have the version they expect, but often they don't bother to have any alternative, so you can end up with a blank screen or non-functioning links. Opera has a setting to report that it's whatever browser you tell it to be, I think by default IE, so it often gets in, and works, when Netscape is locked out. It's often worth looking at the source code of the page to see if you can work out what it's trying to do. If it has jumps to various pages depending on a browser check, just copy and paste them into the address bar; often one will work, at least well enough to get the content you want. Also, see if there's a <NOSCRIPT> section, which is what happens if you don't have javascript active. Again, some don't even bother to have that, but if they do have a link there, that's pretty sure to work.
