That amount of ram should help...and I used to use my beige with the
original 300mhz processor with os x...and...hmm...(trying to remember)  It
was okay.  Also, "acceptable speed" is also a VERY relative term.  It
depends on what you'd be doing.  Also, what are the specs of your iBook.
This could give us a better idea if what you "almost like".
