Deirdre You could try setting up the printer to print a start up page. The Apple Knowledge base article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=20663 covers that.
Also the LW 4/600 will generate a test page which is normally a page of lines. There is a leaver that you push to get it to print. Located on the left rear underside of the printer, a bit tricky to find. These two methods should produce a printed page as they do not use a print driver from your Macintosh. The Start up page uses the LW logic board while the test page just uses the LaserWriter engine and is the most basic test. Though for blank pages most apple troubleshooting points to the cartridge. You could check for the High Voltage contact points on the LW cart and clean them with an eraser. Also for inside the printer as well. Usually on one side or the other. If you're using a locally purchased refilled cart the refillers will often test a cartridge for you. Hope that helps. Good luck. Regards Frank PS: Though if you did have a Laser that printed 'White' pages you could make a lot of money.... that's one thing printers can't do. :) Look up look way up... -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
