When I got the G4 I downloaded the jumper settings chart off OWC's web site
(www.macsales.com)
It was simple enough to follow. I followed the instructions on the chart to
set the chip to 400mhz, then went to 466mhz and back then to 400mhz. Maybe
it didn't like that. I might give it a try actually to reinstall Apple's set
of video drivers rather than ATi's set. Its just that its weird that it
effects OS 9 and not OS X.

I've managed to get a Pentium 2 heatsink from work. Its alot bigger and
longer than the stock one, and would need alot of cutting to get it to fit.
Its also too wide to fit due to the vrm module and the hard drive beign so
close. Unfortunately I haven't got the tools to do such a thing. Thats
interesting though that you shaved down your heatsink and managed to mount a
fan on it. I might be blind here, but where do you connect the fan once
you've mounted it?? I had alook at my motherboard last night and couldn't
for the life of me find any connectors.

Thanks,

Niall
