You may have de-selected "Install Print Drivers" when you installed OS X (I assume that's what you're using, since I never heard of print center in OS 9). Which version of OS X are you using? There were a lot of printer driver updates somewhere between 10.0.2 and 10.1.1 (really not sure where). There was a huge amount of "International" drivers sometime last fall that you could even download via Software Update (or manually, IIRC). I have the 10.0.0 disk and the 10.1 update disk, but if you go back a version, you could really have problems with other parts of the system. You have to select Custom Install to select/deselect different software.
