I was looking at that same camera and when compared to the Panasonic that I bought, it was lacking. I bought the Panasonic PV-DV402. Works very well for importing to iMovie 2 and for importing pictures to iPhoto. It was a little more expensive but the added features are well worth it. I have a G4 867 running OS 10.1.4.
